Extraordinary green architecture in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles

This glorious home which called 1201 Laurel Way is located on Beverly Hills in Los Angeles. This inspiring green architecture is designed by the build team: developer Richard Papalian, designer Michael Palumbo, and architect Marc Whipple. At the top of three tiers of hillside garden borders, 1201 Laurel Way becomes an enormous residence in an imposing self-contained enclosure. From this home, tourists can immerse in a glorious view of the downtown Los Angeles, Catalina and the coastline of California.

The Stacking Green house in Vietnam

The inspiration of the house is taken from the local residents’ fondness for potted plants. “By experimenting with light, wind and water, and by using natural and local materials, Vo Trong Nghia Architects employ a contemporary design vocabulary to explore new ways to create green architecture for the 21st century, whilst maintaining the essence of Asian architectural expression.”, stated Vo Trong Nghia Architects.

This green house is a “tube house” built on a narrow city lot. Both the front and the back facades are artfully designed with layers of concrete planters cantilevered from the structure’s two sidewalls, maintained by an automatic irrigation system utilizing collected rainwater.

These plants like a friendly greeting to anyone who comes to the home.

This green, porous facade and the roof garden, on the one hand, insulate the home’s inhabitants from direct sunlight, street noise and pollution, on the other hand, provide natural air conditioning via air flow throughout the house.
